Japanese currencty is YEN, simbolized .
The yen is not divided into smaller units.
The prices on tags/desplays in Japan usually include 5% consumption tax.

Newly designed bank notes- the 10,000yen bills, the 5,000yen bills and 1,000yen bills - went into circulation on Nov 2004 for the first time in 20 years. The 2,000 yen bills, first issued in July 2000 have not been redesigned.
