Accommodation in Japan

When you plan to stay in Tokyo area, choosing an accommodation will be crucial to how much you enjoy your trip.
For a short stay, you will have mainly two choises: Hotel or ryokan. Most of hotels offer western-style rooms, some offer a Japanese-sytle room. In ryokan or Japanese-style inn, there will be tatami(woven straw mats) on the floor, and futons(Japanese bedclothes), not beds. Staying ryokan is probably worthwhile to experiance and enhance your enjoyment of Japan.
People staying for a longer than a few days may find the apart/guest house(gaijin house)section worth to check out.
