This is where not to be missed if you once visit Japan.
Also, don't miss the Nijubashi Bridge which is one of
the most beautiful scene in Japan.

Access: short walk from Nijubashi-mae station
(Chiyoda line), Otemachi station (Chiyoda, Hanzomon,
Tozai, Toei Mita lines), Takebashi station(Tozai line).
Nijubashi station is on the side of the outer gardens,
Otemachi and Takebashi stations are on the side of

This theater which was rebuilt in 1951 has staged mainly Kabuki since 1889.
They stage 2 shows daily (matinees-11:00-3:45 / evening shows-4:30-9:00
*time is subject to change depending on the peformance), for 25 days every month.
Both shows usually consist of three or four plays.
You can listen to a guide of the play in English via earphones.
There is also a souvenir shop inside.

Admission charge: 16,800 yen (1st floor box seat), 14,700, 10,500, 4,200, 2,520 yen
*The admission charge for special new year performance and
summer performance are subject to change.

Reservation: Telephone call 03-5565-6000 (only in Japan) or
at the theater box office (10:00-18:00 open every day)

Single show (Makumi): This is for people who don't have enough time to see
whole program. You can see single performance of a program which usually
consists of three or four separated plays. But this ticket is sold only the same day,
the seat is on the 4th floor and the ear phone guide is not available on that floor.

Asakusa

You can enjoy the traditional atomosphere of Edo era strolling through a row
of small souvenir / handcraft shops to the shrine complex.
Also, check out a cruise down Sumida river!

A huge paper lantern at the main gate (Kaminari mon) welcomes
you to the oldest temple in Tokyo, Senso-ji.
There is a five storeyed pagoda(Gojuno-to), Kannon-do, Dembo-in (temple),
Asakusa shrine.
There are events held every year inside.
Ho-zuki Ich(Ground Cherry fair)on Jul. Hagoita Ichi (Battledore fair) on Dec.

Access: 6-7 minute from Asakusa station(Toei Asakusa, Ginza lines) (1 minute to Kaminari mon).

and have memorial pictures taken(feel free to take pictures

on their Rickshaw in the costume! (Charge: 6.000 yen - including dressing)

The Shitamachi Museum

Charge: 200 yen for Adults, 100 yen for students under high school
(It is possible to be changed in the future. Call ahead to check)

This museum displays items which are related with
the daily life in Edo to Taisho('12-'25) eras including
the manners and customs, social relations and cultural
history of a typical "Shitamachi - Neighbortown of Tokyo-"
in these times.
On the first floor, the display which recreates a real
tenant house, a cheap sweet shop, a marchant's shop,
a copper boiler craftsman's house bring you back in the
Meiji(1868-1912) and Taisho(1912-1925) eras and show
the people's life in the times.
On the second floor, it shows the people's life in these
eras, various goods which were used in the daily life
such as children's games/amusment, kitchen utensils,
craftsman's tools etc.
*Taking pictures is allowed only on the 1st floor.

International Arcade

International Arcade was built in 1960 to improve the image
of the area under the JR line in Yurakucho and to welcome people
from other countries visiting Japan for the Olympics in 1964.
Most of the shops inside are duty free. Japanese handcrafts,
Paper lanterns, Fans, Kimono, T-shirts designed with Japanese
motifs etc are sold. You will find the best souvenir here!
